Wedding - John & Amy - London
A Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding in London
June 2019 - John and Amy got married last summer at Chelsea Old Town Hall, before heading down the Thames on a boat to East London. This Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding was a lovely mixture of East and West and old and new. I am pretty certain that there’s nothing more Londony and summery than a ride down the river in glorious sunshine. You pass so many famous London landmarks.
As you’ll see below, we had the opportunity to take some portraits just as we passed by Tower Bridge (and hordes of tourists who wanted to wave at John and Amy!).
Creative Wedding Photography in London
John and Amy’s day was a perfect mix of old, London grandeur in the form of their ceremony at the beautiful Victorian Neo-Classical Old Chelsea Town Hall, followed by a warehouse wedding reception at Trinity Buoy Wharf in East London.
I’d never photographed in the main room at Chelsea Old Town Hall before and it was a really, really beautiful space to photograph John and Amy’s heartfelt wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony was over and we’d photographed John and Amy leaving in a shower of confetti, their friends donned high vis jackets with “To The Boat” emblazon on the back. They led a procession of guests through the streets, with John and Amy following behind.
After a sunny ride down the river, we docked at Trinity Buoy Wharf and guests hung out by the river in the sunshine. After dinner and speeches, the evening’s entertainment was the brilliant Anna Sin, a vintage band who played everything from Elvis to reworked 90s covers.
We had a brilliant day with John and Amy. Here’s what they had to say about working with us:
Thank you so much for these. They’re absolutely fantastic. It was very strange that even without drinking much, the whole day basically passed in a blur and we can remember only small bits. We’re very thankful we have your photos to help us remember!
