Wedding - Paul & Marie - Rhone-Alpes

French Wedding in le Manoir de la Garde

June 2018 - Paul and Marie’s wedding was a very relaxed, rustic affair in the stunning Rhone Alpes region, close to the south of France in late spring. The venue Paul and Marie had chosen for their wedding was le Manoir de la Garde a Jarnioux, consisting of a few beautifully maintained Barn houses set within a small village. Spring weddings are always wonderful with the quality of light available, and here in this part of France, the freshness, vibrancy and scent of the gardens were intoxicating. This idyllic set up enabled the whole wedding party to stay with each other with close by accommodations, just perfect for families and groups of friends.

Me and Dawn arrived as Paul and Marie were beginning their preparations in different areas of the hotel they were staying in. It works so well being able to offer couples two photographers for their wedding coverage. Dawn was able to concentrate solely on Marie and her bridal party, whilst I spent time with Paul and his best men, as they completed their last minute preparations leaving time for some photos in and around the village.

Paul and Marie had requested a very laid back approach for their wedding photography, which suits our style and ethos perfectly. We like to blend in with guests to capture all the key moments unobtrusively, as well as all the in between moments – often the most important!

Documentary Wedding Photography

After the ceremony, when we arrived at the Manoir, we had a stroll around the place for some photos, I will always recommend to take 30mns away from your guests at some point so that allow you time to reflect and enjoy your day and also to take some beautiful candid photos that you will cherish over the years. The wedding  menu was a delicious buffet prepared by the local chef, the food was absolutely amazing, typical French food, served with local red, rose and white wine. Don’t worry, I won’t drink during the wedding! I let the guests enjoying a drink or two and then I take some pictures of them dancing! After the speeches, Paul and Marie took centre stage for their first dance which was pretty impressive! And the party began....

A week later, I went to meet the bride and groom again as they wanted to take more photos around the area, these are the photos of them cycling and enjoying a bottle of Champagne in the countryside! This was one the most beautiful wedding I have been too!
